When the Weary Find Home

Longing and yearning, we wander through life chasing cheap and promising things. Always coming up short or discovering these things to be bags of lies, we stumble along in weakness and discouragement, parched and empty. Hoarding knowledge, collecting earthy wares, pressing to climb broken ladders, humanity continues in longing. Like thirsting crowds in the desert, we yearn.

Having exhausted all other resources and weary of the emptiness, some stumble upon the doorstep of Home. Home -- where comfort like salve heals and restores, where doors open to all willing to come, where springs in the desert refresh and strengthen. Home -- the place where mourning turns to laughter, where silence turns to singing, where the hearth is always warm and inviting. The place every wanderer who has ever entered wants to keep coming back for more. Because one day at Home is better than a thousand days anywhere else. Those in whose hearts are the highways to Zion always find Home and in His presence is fullness of joy.

[inspired by Psalm 84]
