You’re Listening, Right?

I know I'm not the only one feeling the heavy of our times. It's on all our minds. All that seems to be going wrong in our world taunts us and tempts us to be terrorized, to believe the light is being snuffed out completely. The bits of good we may experience in a day feel unimportant and sort of cheap somehow because of what is looming in other places for other people. The threat of something big and dark hangs over us like a cloud, sometimes causing us to live with our breaths held in tension and our hearts panting in anxiety.

But there's this quieter Voice speaking with a tone of authority, breathing peace to those who will listen. We do listen because the times are pressing us to. We listen for the rumble gaining momentum in places we cannot see. We are watching the movement of pieces fitting together and we are waiting for the perfect moment in the continuum of time when His time has come.

I will sing to the Lord for He is highly exalted. The Lord is my strength and song and He has become my salvation; This is my God and I will praise Him. The Lord is a warrior. The Lord is His name. Your right hand, O Lord, is majestic in power; Your right hand, O Lord, shatters the enemy. And in the greatness of Your excellence You overthrow those who rise up against You; You send forth Your burning anger, and it consumes them as chaff. Who is like You among the gods, O Lord? Who is like You, majestic in holiness, awesome in praises, working wonders? In Your lovingkindness You have led the people whom You have redeemed; In Your strength You have guided them to Your holy habitation. (exodus 15)

The One True God, YOUR GOD, will stretch out His arms in victory and will snuff out His enemy. Do not allow the pockets of evil looming large cause you to lose sight of God's great power and perfect plan. He will make right all the wrongs. He will overpower and conquer. In lovingkindness He will lead His redeemed, in strength He will bring them to His safe and holy place. For His Name's Sake.
